Sherrard Pumpkin Fest
Saturday, September 29,
Sherrard, IL is located in Mercer County Illinois, south of the Quad Cities, just off IL Route 67. It is a small town with good schools, friendly people and we share our zip code with a few surrounding communities such as Cable and Fyre Lake.
It was decided a couple of years ago that Sherrard needed to hold an event that would bring in people from the surrounding communities to have a good time and give Sherrard a chance to be "put on the map", even if were only for one day a year. Hence, the Pumpkin Fest!
This, as the title indicates, is our second year for the Fest but we are growing! This year a new event will be,"Lil' Miss Pumpkin Pageant". On Friday evening, September 28th, at the Sherrard High School will be the location of the pagent. It is open to young ladies that live in the Sherrard School District that are between the ages of 6 to 8. For more details and entry form click on the blue link here. Complete form and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Pumpkin Fest is for families. There are games and activities for the kids and we have, in the works, something new to any festival that I know of called "Man Land". This will be an area that have vendors that offer the men something to lookout and check out while the women shop the craft and commercial vendors. Men are welcome at the craft, commercial and food vendors and vice versa but with "Man Land" we hope to offer things like equipment for hunting and fishing. AND, we are working on having a vendor that has grilling equipment as well. If you are a craft vendor and wish to participate in the Pumpkin Fest, email your contact info to email@example.com. In leaving your information, include what sort of items you will be selling. If you are a commercial vendor, keep in mind, most businesses only allow one representative per festival, that is our policy as well, so make sure you mention what company/product you represent.
The Sherrard Library will be hosting the "Cutest Lil' Pumpkin" cutest baby contest this year.
